Private ramen tours · Tokyo
I'm Hiro. I was born here, and I eat ramen almost every day. I take you to the shops I go to myself, teach you how to order like a regular, and send you home with my personal list of the best bowls in Tokyo.
Why eat with me
Most visitors end up in the same three famous shops with the same two-hour line. The bowls locals actually love are a few streets away, with no line — but no English either. That's where I come in.
I'm not reading from a list. Every shop I take you to is one I go to myself, and I've checked it for your dietary needs in person.
Ticket machine, the counter, "the call" at a Jiro shop, when to slurp. You order the bowl yourself — I'm right next to you.
After the tour I send you my Ramen 101 guide and my personal Tokyo ramen list, sorted by area. You won't need me for the rest of your trip.
Tours
All private. Ramen included. Prices are per group: the first guest pays the full price, each extra guest pays less.

What a tour is like
Based on what you like and where you're staying. You get the station, the exit and a photo, at least two days before.
I'll be the one with the ramen face. We walk to the shop together — usually 5 to 10 minutes.
In the line I take you through my own guide: where ramen came from, the main styles, what's in the soup, the noodles, the unwritten rules. By the time we sit down you know what you're eating.
The ticket machine, the seat, the toppings, the call. You do it, I translate only if you need me. Then we eat — and I show you how I eat a bowl.
After the bowl I show you the signs I look for, so you can find your own shops for the rest of your trip. Then I send you my Ramen 101 guide and my personal Tokyo ramen list.
Reviews
“Hiro has a real passion for ramen and it shows in his knowledge. He just wants to share that love with others. He was accommodating to our dietary restrictions and found the perfect place for us. He scouted it out in advance and made sure it was a good option for us. It was excellent.”

About Hiro
I'm 19, a university student, and I eat ramen almost every day — Jiro-style when I'm hungry, a clean shio bowl when I'm not, tsukemen when it's hot. I've been to hundreds of shops across Tokyo and I keep a list of the ones I'd send a friend to.
I started these tours because I kept seeing visitors line up for two hours at the same famous shop, while a better bowl was sitting one street over with no line. One day with me and you'll know how to find that bowl yourself.
I'm not a tour company. It's just me — which means the shop, the timing and the pace are built around you, not a schedule.

Yes. Book the Custom tour and write it in the "Can't eat" box. I pick a shop that works for you and check with the staff in person before the tour. Fully vegan ramen is also possible in Tokyo.
Yes. Drinks and extra toppings are not, so bring a little cash — most shops don't take cards.
Near the shop, usually at a station exit. I email you the exact meeting point — station, exit and a photo — at least two days before the tour, or within a few hours if you booked last-minute.
Yes, on the Custom tour. Kids who share a bowl with a parent are free — just tell me in the notes. Jiro-style shops are loud, cramped and the bowls are huge, so I don't recommend that one for young kids.
Big. Even the regular size is a lot. You can ask for less noodles and vegetables, and it's completely fine to leave some. I'll show you how to pace it.
The tour runs rain or shine — we're indoors most of the time. If there's a typhoon or another emergency, I'll contact you and we'll move the date or refund you.
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start time — just reply to your confirmation email. Within 24 hours, the booking is non-refundable. Full policy.
1 to 4. Ramen shops are small, and I want everyone to sit together. For a bigger group, message me on Instagram and we'll figure something out.
Yes. My English isn't perfect, but it's good enough to teach you a lot about ramen — and I'm learning more every tour.
You can book up to 5 hours before the start time, if there's a free slot. For today or tomorrow, I'll send the meeting point as soon as I see the booking.
By card when you book — Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Apple Pay or Google Pay, through Stripe. You get a confirmation email right away.
Pick a date and a time. I'll take care of everything else — the shop, the meeting point, the ordering.
